You’ll also find information on the Binghamton University acceptance rate for early action and regular cycles, what Binghamton is looking for in applicants, and notable alumni.

Key Takeaways

Table of Contents

For Binghamton University, like many other colleges, there are two types of admission; early and regular. It’s important to understand what each admission type requires from you and their deadline.

Regular admissions do not have any special clauses. However, the deadlines usually differ. If you’re opting for regular admissions, you have until January 15 every year to complete your application and send all required documents. You’ll get a decision by April 1.

There is a ton of detail on how to apply for Binghamton University further down in this blog post, however, let’s explore what early decision and early action mean and if these options are right for you.

Early Decision

According to the State University of New York (SUNY), early decision is for fall freshmen and can only be used for one campus choice only. The reason behind that is that an early decision is legally binding and so if you get in you have to go.

The early decision application requires not only your signature but the signatures of your parent and counselor. The signatures are to confirm that you are committed, and will withdraw all other applications once approved.

This option is perfect for students who are certain that Binghamton is the university that you want to go to.

Applications for early decision need to be submitted by November 1. You will get a response by December 15. You will then have until January 15 to make a tuition deposit.

Early Action Program

Binghamton’s Early Action program is a non-binding admissions program designed to give students the opportunity to submit an application early and get decisions sooner than with the regular decision process.

By applying early, students can take advantage of special programs and opportunities such as scholarships, special housing, or priority registration for courses.

If you’re interested in applying for early action admissions, you’ll have to submit your application by November 1. However, you’ll have until December 1, to submit application materials such as a transcript.

The next step is to wait until January 15, when Binghamton provides early action decisions.

If you want to apply to Binghamton University, you’ll need:

Once you log-in to the application portal, you will submit your high school transcript, recommendation letter/recommender, and your test scores if you wish. You’re also allowed to submit your transcript by mail.
