The College Essay is NOT like writing an English Class Assignment. It is a personal statement that captures WHO the student is and WHY they should be admitted into the college.
The college essay should be compelling, engaging, and deeply personal. Although only 650 words, to write an essay of this magnitude, students often need to know PROVEN METHODS that impress college admissions officers.
It’s a common misstep for students to wait until the school year starts to begin the college essay. In 2020, there is a chance that high schools will not resume in-person classes by fall, leaving your student without guided essay assistance. Summer is the perfect time to get this crucial part of the application done -- where there are no class readings, quizzes, and other papers to distract.
The College Writer's Essay Lab is a VIRTUAL Course hosted by Bethany Goldszer, a College Admissions Expert with Stand Out College Prep.

By the end of the lab, your student will have a completed general essay and be prepared to draft supplemental essays for college applications.
