Some of the deadlines may be from prior years. Scholarship deadlines are cyclical, so even if a deadline has passed, the website will likely be updated for the 2023-24 cycle. January

This is for $2,000. Applicants must be working toward four-year degrees in specific areas of agriculture. Applicants must also be residents of one of the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin or Wyoming. This is for $1,000. This is for $1,000. This is for high school seniors or current college freshmen. Applicants must be enrolled in a construction related college or technical school program for this academic year. The deadline to apply is January 15th. Apply here.

This gives three awards that range from $500-$1,000. This is for incoming male freshmen at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln who display excellence in academics, motivation for personal success with an interest in developing and applying leadership skills. This is for $8,000. This is for applicants who have been a member of AQHYA or AQHA for at least one year and are from Nebraska. Members must apply during their senior year of high school or while enrolled at an accredited college, university or vocational school. Recipients must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.5-grade point average. The deadline is January 15th. Read more here.

 

February

This is a competitive scholarship for first-time freshmen entering college. This is up to $5,500 per semester. Applicants must live in Nebraska and meet the in-state residency requirements for the Nebraska public college they plan to attend. DACA, undocumented, and DACA-eligible students are still able to apply. Applicants must also show financial need (EFC under $10,000). The deadline to apply is February 1st. Website found here.

This ranges from $1,000- $1,500. To be eligible, the applicants must be a Nebraska resident accepted at Cotter. They must also be sponsored by a local Nebraska P.E.O chapter. This scholarship is based on the applicant’s scholastic record, community service, honors, leadership, work experience, talents, and financial need. The deadline to apply is February 1st. This ranges from $1,000- $1,500. To be eligible, the applicants must be a Nebraska resident accepted at Cotter. They must also be sponsored by a local Nebraska P.E.O. chapter. This scholarship is based on the applicant’s scholastic record, community service, honors, leadership, work experience, talents, and financial need. The deadline to apply is February 1st. This range from $500 to $5,000. Applicants must be high school seniors or college freshmen or sophomores who are residents of Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia. Students must also have a minimum GPA of 3.0 for high school seniors or 2.75 for college students. Selection is based on academic excellence, community involvement, leadership skills, awards and honors, and financial need. The deadline for applications is February 5th. Read more here.

This is for graduating seniors, current, or non-traditional/returning students residing in Adams, Boone, Buffalo, Butler, Cass, Clay, Colfax, Custer, Dawson, Douglas, Hall, Hamilton, Howard, Kearney, Madison, Merrick, Phelps, Platte, Polk, Sarpy, Saunders, Sherman, Stanton, or Washington County in Nebraska. They must be full-time students pursuing a certificate, diploma, or associate’s degree in a skilled trade field from an accredited trade school or college in Nebraska. The deadline is February 10th. This gives up to ten $1,000 awards. This is for graduating high school seniors who plan to attend a Nebraska state or private college, a Nebraska one-or two-year trade or technical school, Northwest Technical Institute of Goodland, Kansas, and Mitchell Technical Institute of Mitchell, South Dakota. Applicants must be a customer of Great Plains Communications or subsidiaries to be eligible. The deadline is February 23rd. Apply here.

 

March

This ranges from $1,000 to $6,600 based on financial needs for High-achieving female 10th and 11th graders attending high school in Michigan, Ohio, Minnesota, Nebraska, Missouri, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Joyce Ivy Summer Scholars attend summer pre-college programs at eleven partner colleges and universities – Barnard College, Brown University, Cornell University, Emory University, Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, MIT, Smith College, Stanford University, Washington University in St Louis, University of Chicago, and Yale University. This is for $500. This scholarship is available to any Nebraska high school senior who has been accepted to an accredited college or university. The deadline to apply is March 1st. Learn more here.

This is for $100. This scholarship is available to any Nebraska high school senior who has been accepted to a Nebraska college or university. The student should express a special interest in the study of geology in particular, Nebraska geology. The deadline to apply is March 1st.  Read more here.

This is for $750. This scholarship is available to any Nebraska high school senior with special interest in prairie and soil conservation.  The deadline to apply is March 1st.  More details here.

This is for $500. This scholarship is available to any Nebraska high school senior OR Henry County High School (Paris, TN) OR Colegio San Felipe High School (Arecibo, Puerto Rico) with an interest in business and the environment. The deadline to apply is March 1st.  More info. here.

This will distribute $1,000 dollar scholarships to female Nebraska High School Seniors who have played high school golf and are furthering their education at a 2-year, 4-year, or technical school in Nebraska. One scholarship will be awarded to an applicant in each NWAGA region (Eastern Nebraska, Central Nebraska and Western Nebraska) with the remaining scholarships awarded regardless of region. Two scholarships will be given away; a $500 scholarship to a high school senior and a second $500 scholarship to a college/technical student. For the high school student, they are to enroll in and attend an associate degree post-secondary institution OR enroll and attend a four year college. For the College/Technical student, they are already in attendance at a College/Technical institution and upon submitting a grade transcript for the following semester. The deadline is March 8th. This is for $1,000. This provides scholarships for young people in Nebraska. To apply, you must be a current graduating senior who resides in townships that were included in the former Odell High School district (Diller-Odell High School currently). Applicants must demonstrate scholastic application and achievement with the intention of pursuing postsecondary education. You must also be planning to attend an accredited 2- or 4-year college or university and be a full-time student. The deadline to apply is March 15th. Read more here.

This is for $500. To apply, you must be a current graduating senior or former graduate of Wood River Rural High School in Wood River, Nebraska who is attending Central Community College (Columbus, Hastings, Grand Island) or Concordia University OR a student enrolled in nursing at Central Community College in Grand Island or Concordia University. Preference will be given to seniors or graduates of Wood River Rural High School and those majoring in nursing, dental hygiene or electrical technology. Applicants must have a High School GPAof 3.0 or greater, and maintain a minimum college GPA of 2.8 or above each semester. The deadline is March 15th. More info. here.

This is for $800. To be eligible to apply you must be a graduating senior or former graduate of Arapahoe High School, pursuing a major in education, health care, agriculture, construction or related trades planning to attend full-time at a 2 or 4-year college in Nebraska, maintaining a 2.5 GPA or higher and demonstrate financial need. This is for $1,200. To apply, you must be a current graduating senior of Elmwood-Murdock High School in Murdock, Nebraska seeking a two or four-year degree from an accredited institution. The applicant must demonstrate academic achievement while in high school and demonstrate financial need. The deadline to apply is March 15th. More info. here.

This is for $1,500. To apply, you must be a current graduating senior at a public or private high school in Lincoln, Nebraska who demonstrates academic success in high school and/or college studies. The applicant must be pursuing undergraduate studies at a university or college in Nebraska. Applicants must demonstrate financial need. The deadline is March 15th. More details here.

This is for $800. To apply, you must be a current graduating senior or a former graduate of a high school in Nebraska; demonstrate academic success in high school studies and must possess the ability to do post-secondary work in a satisfactory manner; be pursuing full-time undergraduate studies at a two year or four year college or university in Nebraska. The applicant must demonstrate financial need, maintain a desire to succeed and must contribute financially to his/her own education. The deadline to apply is March 15th. Website found here.

This gives three $1,500 awards. To apply, you must be a U.S. citizen female student currently graduating from a Lincoln, NE public or private high school; or a former graduate of any of those schools; attending a 2- or 4- college, university or trade school or vocational training institute either full-time or part-time; have maintained a 3.0 GPA; demonstrated financial need. There is a preference for women wanting to re-enter the workforce after an absence due to family reasons. The deadline to apply is March 15th. More info. here.

This is for $2,500. To apply, you must be a current graduating senior of Elgin Public High School or Elgin Pope John XXIII Central Catholic High School, having completed all four years of high school at one or both schools. The applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale. While financial need is not part of the selection criteria, this scholarship will not be awarded to any student who receives another scholarship which sufficiently finances all tuition, fees and books. This is for $1,500. To apply, you must be a current graduating senior or former graduate of Ansley, Arcadia, Gibbon, Ord, Sargent, or Shelton High Schools in Nebraska; demonstrate scholastic application and achievement in high school and/or college studies; have resided in a community served and maintained by an exchange served by the Nebraska Central Telephone Company during his/her high school education. This is for $1,5000. To apply, you must be a former graduate of any high school in Nebraska pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in education at a qualified college or university in Nebraska. The applicant must have completed at least his/her sophomore year in college, having maintained a minimum GPA of 3.0. Recipients may renew this scholarship for a period of up to 2 years total, provided they maintain a 3.0 GPA. The deadline is March 15th. Learn more here.

This is for $1,000. To apply, you must be a current graduating senior or a former graduate of any high school in Nebraska or have successfully completed the GED. Former recipients of the George and Lynna Gene Cook Scholarship may apply. The applicant must have attained a GPA of 3.0 or the equivalent on a 4.0 scale and be pursuing a degree in ministry or education at any qualified college or university in the United States. Preference will be given to applicants who are members of First Church of God congregations that are affiliated with the Anderson, Indiana church body. The deadline is March 15th. Read more here.

This is for $1,500. To apply, you must be a current graduating senior or former graduate of Waverly High School in Waverly, Nebraska demonstrating scholastic application and achievement in high school and/or college studies. The applicant may attend a college or university of his or her choice and must be seeking a degree in agriculture, home economics, or veterinary medicine; OR applicant must be a male graduate of Waverly High School who will attend a Lutheran seminary school with intentions of pursuing postgraduate studies at a Lutheran seminary college and becoming a minister. This gives five awards for $2,500.To apply, you must be a graduating senior from any high school in Nebraska OR be a current college student attending a college or university in Nebraska. The applicant must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in nursing and plan to attend any accredited college or university in Nebraska, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need. This is for $1,200.  To apply the applicant must be a current graduating high school senior or first year college student who is a relative of a member of American Legion District 6, ELKS – Broken Bow area, Masonic Custer Lodge #148 – Broken Bow,  United Postmaster and Managers of America, or VFW District 11. The applicant may also have a G.E.D., be a graduating high school senior, or first year college student who has received services from CEDARS. Nebraska high school seniors or first year college students who have been accepted for admission to Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri and are sponsored by a Nebraska P.E.O. Chapters may also apply. April

This is for $1,000. Applicants must be a graduating senior or will be entering their first year of college who is going into the Mental Health field. The candidate must live in Nebraska and be a citizen of the United States. The deadline to apply is April 1st. Information and Application here.

This is designed to support students interested in pursuing careers in the Seed Trade Industry. This scholarship awards $2,000.Applicants must be undergraduates enrolled in an eligible four-year college or university or graduate students enrolled in an accredited university’s thesis-based graduate program, and have minimum GPA of 3.0. on a 4.0 scale, and be residents of Colorado or Nebraska. This covers undergraduate tuition for Pell-qualified Nebraska students at Chadron, Peru, and Wayne State Colleges. This is available to Nebraska residents that are first-time freshmen or incoming transfer students at Chadron State, Peru State, or Wayne State. This is for $500- $750. This is given to graduating seniors who plan to attend a two-year academic college.  The deadline is April 1st.  Application found here.

This gives eight $1,000. This is for the upper 25% of the class OR those who have a 3.75 Cumulative GPA. Applicants must be at least a 2-year participant in 2 sports and must have earned a varsity letter in 2 sports. They must also have an ACT minimum score of 24 to be eligible. This is open to students who are legal U.S. residents, residents of Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, or Wisconsin, and high school seniors at a high school in Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, or Wisconsin. Applicants must be planning to attend, physically or virtually, an eligible college in the fall following the registration dates. The deadline is April 28th. More details here.

This is for people willing to learn a trade that’s in demand. We’re looking for the next generation of aspiring workers who will work smart and hard.  This program doesn’t focus on test scores, grades, or grammar.  It’s about the people who share our values and understand the importance of work ethic, personal responsibility, delayed gratification, and a positive attitude. May

This is for $500. Applicants must be high school senior in good standing academically. They must also pursue an electrical degree/program at any Nebraska-accredited college, university, or technical school. The deadline is May 1st. Apply here through the form.

This is for $2,500 per academic year, for four years. This is available to American Indian high school seniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher who reside in one of the 23 states serviced by the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Pacific Corporation and its affiliated companies: Arizona, California, Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, Arkansas, Louisiana, Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, Wisconsin, or Iowa. This is for up to $1,000. Applicants must be graduating/graduated high school seniors. They must also be admitted to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the following fall semester. They must also be a male interested in Greek Life at UNL.  The deadline is May 31st. Apply here.

This is for students who are planning to attend or continue to attend a college, university, or technical school in NE or western IA with the goal of achieving an undergraduate degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. The deadline is June 15th. Apply here.

This covers undergraduate tuition at all University of Nebraska campuses for students who qualify. This is for Nebraska residents accepted to UNL, UNO, UNK, UNMC, or NCTA. Applicants must be full-time students (12 or more credit hours per semester) and have a combined parent and student Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of $60,000 or less. The deadline to apply is June 1st. October

This ranges from $10,000- $25,000. Applicants must currently be a resident of and attend high school in Nebraska. They must be enrolled full-time as high school seniors, exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree, demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required), be involved in co-curricular and community service activities, and display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity. This gives two $5,000 scholarships. The applicant must be a college sophomore or higher at the time of application and must reside in Nebraska or attend school in Nebraska or be a child of a Nebraska Chapter Safari Club member.  Applicants must also hold a “B” average or better and have a background in hunting, fishing, wildlife conservation, and/or wildlife education. December

This covers full tuition, fees, room and board over four years (the full-ride recipient must live in NWU-sponsored housing all four years). Also, they must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.75 or higher and Submit the Nebraska Wesleyan University application for admission. The deadline to apply is December 1st. Read more here.

Deadlines Vary

This is for Nebraska high school students enrolled in college coursework at a participating Nebraska college. Student or member of student’s immediate family receiving benefits in at least one of the following: Free/reduced-price lunch program, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), or Student’s family has experienced an extreme hardship are eligible. This  is for financial aid for low-income students enrolled in community college programs that do not lead to a degree. To be eligible, applicants must have family income at or below 250% of federal poverty guidelines, and be enrolled in an eligible program that: offers a state, national, or locally recognized certificate, offers preparation for a professional examination or licensure, provides endorsement for an existing credential or licensure, represents recognized skill standards defined by an industrial sector, and offers a similar credential or training. This is for $4000 per semester. Applicants must have a minimum 20 ACT with an outstanding high school GPA or excellent class rank. They must also be in a high-need field: Agricultural Engineering, Athletic Training, Biological Systems Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Communication Science and Disorders, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Construction Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering.
