This ranges from $1,000 – $80,000. Applicants must be a senior in high school and have achieved either a minimum of B+ average, ranked in the top 25% of class, or have an ACT score of 24 or an SAT score of 1100. Applicants must have also participated in two sports for at least two years in each sport and must have earned at least one varsity letter in each of two sports. This provides a percentage of tuition and fees paid; up to a maximum rate not to exceed the maximum rate that would be charged by the state educational institutions for enrollment. The percentage is determined by the number of eligible students and available appropriations. Students may be pursuing a certificate, diploma or degree program and must be an enlisted member of a Kansas Air/Army National Guard unit. Full-time enrollment is not required. This grant is funded by the state of Kansas. The Kansas Legislature provides limited assistance to financially needy students. This is a merit-based service obligation scholarship program that provides financial assistance to both students pursuing bachelor’s degree programs and currently licensed teachers pursuing an endorsement in hard-to-fill disciplines or master’s degrees in hard-to-fill disciplines or either group planning to teach in an underserved geographic area. Recipients sign agreements to teach one year for each year of scholarship support in Kansas. This is up to $5,000. Awards will be determined by the quality and strength of the case presented for the identified community need. Applications which include partnership between agencies, multiple funding sources and meet needs in the areas of “Arts” and/or “Youth” will be given priority. Application deadline is October 29th. This will provide funding for programs/projects that directly and positively change health habits, behaviors and/or lifestyles for residents in the Kansas counties of Nemaha, Riley, Pottawatomie, Jackson, Jefferson, Douglas, Wabaunsee, or Osage and Lyon Counties. Grant awards are expected to be $10,000 or less. Awards will be determined by the quality and strength of the case presented for the proposed need via the supporting proposal narrative and by the appropriateness of the Topeka Community Foundation as the source of funding. This is for $1,000 each and is given to college students in their sophomore or junior year who are enrolled in a full-time aviation degree program at an accredited four-year college or university. This is a Kansas program for Kansas residents who qualify for a Pell Grant and have the grit and determination to achieve their long-term goals. This program believes in the Midwestern values of humility, hard work and integrity; the very values that make Kansas and its people great. This scholarship is a competitive, 4-year award designed to pay any remaining costs associated with tuition and fees, books and supplies, and room and board after accounting for all other grants, scholarships and financial awards.
