To apply, you must be a full-time high school student attending a public, private, or home-school in the Greater Boston Area. If you happen to be the finalist, you will receive all expenses paid trip to MIT that includes: presentation of research proposals, meeting with MIT professors in the student’s area of interest, personalized tours of MIT research laboratories, attending MIT’s spring tech symposium, opportunity to attend MIT classes and experience MIT student life, the budget of $1000 to implement a project, and weekly mentorship meetings with MIT student mentors. Clemson University Out-of-State Tuition Scholarship is eligible to residents of South Carolina. Domestic out-of-state students with an exceptional high school academic record will be considered for a renewable merit award. Students who show financial need through their FAFSA application will be considered for renewable grant funds as well as merit awards offered. Applicants must maintain a 3.0 GPA and 12 credits per semester for renewal. Inquire with Financial Aid for specific award amounts. The deadline is January 3rd. This will award (2) $1000 scholarships to graduating students in Massachusetts. The State winners will be forwarded to the National JCI Senate and will be eligible for additional $1000 scholarships. Rowan University Brown and Gold Scholarship awards merit-based scholarships to eligible out-of-state students enrolled full time during the fall semester. Individual award amounts are determined at the discretion of Rowan University’s Office of Admissions based on the overall academic qualifications of the student, the competitiveness of the applicant pool and available funding. TheDream.US Opportunity Scholarship covers tuition, fees, on-campus housing, and meals at partner colleges, with a maximum award of $80,000 for a bachelor’s degree. Applicants must be undocumented or have DACA or TPS status and arrive in the United States before a specified date, maintaining continuous residence since then. Eligible applicants came to the United States before the age of 16 (Note: U.S. born individuals are not eligible). Applicants must demonstrate significant unmet financial need, must live in and have graduated or will graduate from a high school in a targeted locked-out state. Graduated or will graduate with a high school GPA of 2.5 or possess a cumulative college/university GPA of 2.5. Princeton Prize in Race Relations (PPRR) rewards high school students who, through their volunteer activities, have undertaken significant efforts to advance racial equity and understanding in their schools or communities. Each of the Princeton Prize in Race Relations recipients receives an award of $1,000 and is invited to participate in a Symposium on Race. The deadline is January 31st. This is available to high school seniors, undergraduates, graduates, community college and non-traditional students. To be eligible, a student’s permanent residence, or school, must be located in Massachusetts or Connecticut. The amount varies and the deadline is February 1st. Website here.
This is for $5,000. To be considered, you must reside in Massachusetts and be in your final year at a Massachusetts high school. Roothbert Fund Scholarships are open to all in the United States. While the Fund does not emphasize any particular form of religious practice or worship, it seeks to provide support to persons motivated by spiritual values. Besides completing the application, applicants must also submit: a copy of their most recent official transcript; three recommendation letters; and three autobiographical essays. As long as the applicant is in the United States when applying, this is also open to international students. The deadline is February 1st. More information can be found here and here.
NFB of MA Scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic excellence, community service, and leadership. Applicant must be legally blind or have a visual impairment necessitating services from a teacher of the visually impaired, be a resident of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, plan to pursue a full-time, postsecondary course of study in the upcoming academic year, and have not previously received an NFBMA scholarship more than twice for the same degree. This ranges from $500 to $1500 per student. An applicant must be either a student attending an accredited college or university in Massachusetts; or a Massachusetts resident attending an accredited out-of-state college or university; or a high school senior who will be attending an accredited college or university in the fall of the application year. East Longmeadow Garden Club Scholarship is for $1,000. To be eligible, applicants must presently be an East Longmeadow High School senior or a recent graduate who is planning to attend an institution of higher learning. The Dawna J Colbert & John Fitzpatrick Scholarship will award $2,500 per semester to a Black woman who will be attending a two or four-year institution. If enrolled in a 4-year institution the scholarship can amount to $10,000. Applicants must be a resident of eligible states or Washington, D.C. Please note; in order to receive their award, scholarship winners must be able to attend the Inaugural John Fitzpatrick Memorial Golf Classic in person at the Commonwealth National Golf Club in Philadelphia, PA in June. Each year, qualified African-American and Black junior and senior high school students participate in the Essay Contest and Issue Forum. The essay contest is open to high school juniors and seniors (grades 11 and 12) at time of submission of essay. Essay contestants must reside in a district represented by a Congressional Black Caucus Member and be a U.S. citizen/legal permanent resident. This provides financial assistance to New Hampshire’s students pursuing a career in broadcasting. Students who are permanent residents of New Hampshire and plan to, or are, enrolled at an accredited institution of higher learning are eligible to apply. NHAB awards $2,500 scholarships to students pursuing a career in over-the-air broadcasting, as well as a $5,000 is awarded in honor of the former President of the NHAB, Al Sprague. This is offered to a Massachusetts high school senior who plans to major in engineering or land surveying. The total amount awarded is $5,000, to be awarded over two years, $2,500 per year. In order to be eligible, the applicant must reside in Massachusetts and plan to attend an ABET-accredited engineering, land surveying, engineering technology program, or a pre-engineering program. Cathay Bank Foundation Scholarship Program offers $1,000 in scholarship awards for high school seniors planning to attend college as full-time, degree-seeking students in the fall. Christian A. Herter Memorial Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to twenty-five Commonwealth of Massachusetts students who demonstrate academic promise and aspiration for higher education. Awards are based on a student’s college cost of attendance, demonstrated need, and the level of funding for the program. Scholarships are awarded for a maximum of four years. Requirements include, any current high school sophomore or junior who are U.S. Citizens, must be nominated by a sponsoring school or agency, and have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5. This is for $1,000 has been given to around 400 college-bound high school seniors. It’s reserved for New England residents in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Maine who actively skate at FMC arenas from East Boston to Worcester. To be eligible, you must be accepted at accredited two- or four-year U.S. colleges, have participated in ice hockey, figure skating, and recreational ice sports, and exhibit financial need for higher education costs. This is a $1,000 scholarship to one male and one female applicant each year. In order to be considered for the scholarship award, applicants must be former members of a youth soccer team affiliated with the organization. Unlike most scholarships, this award is paid only after recipients have completed at least one semester of college at a Massachusetts institution. The deadline to apply is June 1st. This is for $5,000. The aim of this scholarship is to offer financial support towards college expenses to a graduating senior who has been directly affected by cancer. To qualify, the application must have confirmed attendance as an incoming undergraduate student at a fully accredited college or university in the United States. Spring Meadow Scholarship is for $4,000 to three full-time undergraduate and graduate students majoring in nursery, landscape, horticulture program, or related discipline. Applicants must have at least a 2.5 overall GPA and a 2.7 GPA in their major. Preferences will be given to those who are interested in woody plant breeding, and/or horticultural sales. John F. Moriarty Scholarship is geared toward any Hampden or Hampshire County resident (5 years or more) who has been admitted to or is attending a certified law school. Applicants must have been residents of Hampden or Hampshire County for at least five years and must have been admitted or to or already attending a certified law school. Applicants will be considered based on academic and extracurricular accomplishments to date and on a financial need. After review of all applications received, the finalists will be reviewed and if necessary, finalists will be invited to a Committee interview. The deadline is July 15th. The Annual Asian Heritage High School Scholarship is for $1,000. This is available for graduating high school seniors in the Boston area who are of Asian heritage and will be attending college. This is presenting 23 scholarship and book awards ranging from $1,000 to $3,500 (total of $64,000) to Central Massachusetts medical students. Rossiter Family Scholarship On Behalf of William J. Rizzo, Jr. is eligible to women or racial or ethnic minority (e.g.: African-American or Black, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, Hispanic/Latino, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander) student currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited undergraduate or graduate program in civil or environmental engineering. Applicants must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate sophomore or higher, and must be residents of Massachusetts and attend a college or university in Massachusetts. University of Alabama Out-of-State Merit Scholarships offers merit scholarships for out-of-state incoming freshmen. Dollar amounts will vary by scholarship, but students should have at least a GPA of 3.0. For first-time freshman applicants, students must submit the following to be considered for admission to the university: an application for admission, and an official high school transcript. University of Florida Out-of-State Tuition Waiver offers a very limited number of merit-based out-of-state scholarships designed to reduce the out-of-state tuition for high-achieving students at the following levels. Applicants are reviewed for scholarships using the same holistic and academic criteria used for the admissions review. The deadline is November 1st. More information can be found here and here.
University of South Carolina Alumni Scholars Award (Nonresidents) offers a generous array of scholarships for non- South Carolina resident freshmen. Only one Admissions Merit Award per individual is allowed for nonresidents, with the exception of the Provost Scholars Award, which can be added to any other award listed in this section. To apply for this award, you must submit both a UofSC application and a Top Scholars application supplement to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The deadline is November 15th. If you’re a student who has worked on a golf course in Massachusetts for at least two years, then you qualify for this. This renewable award ranges from $1,000 to $15,000, depending on the student’s financial need and how many students submitted an application. To be considered, you must plan to attend an accredited institution of undergraduate higher education full-time. Students may apply as seniors in high school or during their college career. University of Kentucky Bluegrass Spirit Awards offers renewable academic, competitive and selective scholarship opportunities for incoming first-time freshmen. This reward’s requirements vary, but applicants should have at least a 3.0 GPA, and if they took the ACT/SAT, a score of at least 25 or 1200. Applicants must be a nonresident of Kentucky. It helps needy students by awarding grant money to cover additional charges such as mandatory fees and non-state-supported tuition. To be eligible, you must be a permanent legal resident of Massachusetts for one year prior to the start of the academic year for which the grant is awarded, be a U.S. Citizen or non-citizen eligible under Title IV regulations, and be enrolled in at least three undergraduate credits per semester in an eligible program. This provides grants up to $6000 annually for foster children to help pay for an education beyond high school at any college or university throughout the continental United States. The grant recipient must have signed an agreement with the Department of Children and Families for care and services beyond age 18. This ranges from $200 to a maximum that depends on the type of institution that the student attends. To be considered, you must be a permanent legal resident of Massachusetts for at least one year prior to the start of the academic year for which the grant is awarded. The amount of the award is $500, and there may be more than one award, to be determined by the jury. Students who attend any of the following high schools are eligible: Winchester, Burlington, Cambridge, Somerville, Belmont, and Medford.
