Massachusetts Scholarships

Important Note: The purpose of this detailed listing is to help you plan your scholarship search throughout the year. Please find information below about scholarships for Massachusetts students. Some of the deadlines may be from prior years. Scholarship deadlines are cyclical, so even if a deadline has passed, the website will likely be updated for the 2023-24 cycle. Be sure to reach out to the sponsor or check sponsor websites for the most recent details.

January

To apply, you must be a full-time high school student attending a public, private, or home-school in the Greater Boston Area. If you happen to be the finalist, you will receive all expenses paid trip to MIT that includes: presentation of research proposals, meeting with MIT professors in the student’s area of interest, personalized tours of MIT research laboratories, attending MIT’s spring tech symposium, opportunity to attend MIT classes and experience MIT student life, the budget of $1000 to implement a project, and weekly mentorship meetings with MIT student mentors. This will award (2) $1000 scholarships to graduating students in Massachusetts.  The State winners will be forwarded to the National JCI Senate and will be eligible for additional $1000 scholarships.  We will also award a special $500 scholarship based on need and special circumstances. To be eligible, applicants must be a graduating student in Massachusetts who plans to continue their education at an accredited post-secondary college, university or vocational school. This offers thirty $1000 to $2000 scholarships to Worcester area seniors attending public high school. Leicester High seniors are eligible and must be attending a 2 or 4 years accredited college in the fall. LHS students have won these scholarships in the past and students are encouraged to apply. These are for students entering their junior, senior, fifth, or master’s degree year. The deadline to apply is January 28th. Learn more here.

 

February

This is available to high school seniors, undergraduates, graduates, community college and non-traditional students. To be eligible, a student’s permanent residence, or school, must be located in Massachusetts or Connecticut. The amount varies and the deadline is February 1st. Website here.

 

This is for $5,000. To be considered, you must reside in Massachusetts and be in your final year at a Massachusetts high school. You must also plan to enroll in college and demonstrate strong academic qualifications and a commitment to an environmental field. The deadline to apply is February 1st. More info. here.

 

This is for high school students pursuing trade union programs or college/university study.  About 2,000 students take the exam annually to compete for scholarships ranging from $500 to $16,000.  In order to be eligible for the scholarship, students must take the Labor History Exam. Applications are due December 18th. The exam will be online and can be administered through February 5th. Students can register  and submit applications here

 

Each year Greater Boston PFLAG awards up to $5,000 to high school seniors who have demonstrated leadership in improving their school’s climate for LGBTQ youth. The deadline to apply is February 10th. Additional information here.

 

This is for graduating high school student, pursuing a business degree or trade certification, and resides in one of the core towns of the Corridor 9/495 Regional Chamber of Commerce (Westborough, Northborough, Southborough, or Shrewsbury). The Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, leadership, work and/or internship experience, essay, financial need, and appearance of application. The Chamber will award a total of $13,375 in scholarships. The deadline is February 11th. Application here.  




This ranges from $500 to $1500 per student. An applicant must be either a student attending an accredited college or university in Massachusetts; or a Massachusetts resident attending an accredited out-of-state college or university; or a high school senior who will be attending an accredited college or university in the fall of the application year. Award decisions are based on financial need and an acceptable grade point average.The deadline is February 15th. Application here.

 

This is seeking its next class of students from low- to middle-income families in Massachusetts who have demonstrated academic excellence and are planning to attend competitive colleges as freshmen in the fall. This is a four year, renewable scholarship of $20,000 per year to cover tuition and fees. This also provides advising and additional funding to successful applicants. The deadline is February 15th. This gives two $1,000 scholarships to students pursuing a four-year degree in animal science or marketing at Cornell University, Penn State University or Virginia Tech.  You must be a resident of Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont or Virginia to be eligible. This is for $1,000. To be eligible, applicants must presently be an East Longmeadow High School senior or a recent graduate who is planning to attend an institution of higher learning. They must also be planning to pursue a degree in Agriculture, Botany, Conservation, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Floral Design, Forestry, Landscape Architecture, Oceanography, Perma-culture/Agroecology or a related field.The deadline for applications is February 28th. March

This offers over 100 scholarship awards for high school seniors. The deadline to apply is March 1st. Learn more here.

This is for $1,000 and is given to high school and college students. To be eligible, applicants must major in a course of study in Horticulture and/or Landscape. They must also be a resident of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for a minimum of one year. This must be submitted by March 1st. Learn more here.

This offers a variety of scholarship awards ranging from $700-$2,000. It supports students throughout Southeastern Massachusetts. Whether you are an accepted high school senior, current college student, or adult learner, the SouthCoast Community Foundation offers a range of scholarship options that will help you pursue your educational goals. The deadline for most scholarships is March 1st, but some scholarship deadlines vary. More info here

This is offering one $500 scholarship to a graduating senior. The minimum height for females is 5’10”, males 6’2″. You must be under the age of 21 and live and attend high school Massachusetts, Vermont, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine or Connecticut. Applicants must demonstrate academic and personal achievement, involvement in clubs and activities in the school community, and involvement in clubs and activities outside the school community. This starts at $500. Applicants must be a senior in a Massachusetts high school or homeschooled and have achieved the standards for graduation set by the town of residence. Applicants will enroll in a four-year accredited college or university in a teacher-training program that leads to certification to teach. The deadline is March 1st. Application here.

This is starting at $500. Applicants must currently be undergraduate or graduate students who are legal residents of Massachusetts. The award must be used for a 12-credit Summer session, semester, or full-year program beginning between June 1st of the current year and February 1st of next year. The deadline to apply is March 1st. This gives a minimum of $500. To be considered, applicants must be a senior in a Massachusetts high school, or home schooled and achieved the standards for graduation set by the town of residence. You must write a personal statement and have a portfolio to demonstrate three different examples of original 2D artwork in three (3) different mediums (for example: Oils, Acrylic, Watercolor, Photography, etc) matted, not framed, not larger than 12″ by 18″ overall dimension. This is for $1,000. To be eligible, applicants must either be a senior of a Massachusetts high school or homeschooled and have achieved the standards for graduation set by the town of residence; or be a college sophomores or juniors majoring in Music. This awards over 350 college scholarships every spring from 130 different scholarship funds. To be eligible, you must live in Worcester County to qualify for 99% of our scholarships, enroll full-time at an accredited college or university, you may be a graduating high school senior to be eligible for 90% of our scholarships, and you may be an undergraduate college student or a high school senior to be eligible for the remaining 10% of our scholarships. Awards range from $300 to $5,000 toward one year of college. The average award size is $1,500. The deadline for submission is March 1st.Learn more here.

This offers three $2,000 scholarships. This is for  high school graduates who will be enrolling in a NEACRAO member institution. To be eligible the student must have a strong academic performance, a record of perseverance, and a compelling personal story or unique achievement. The deadline is March 1st. More info here. 

 

These are two scholarships of $1,000 for Medford graduating seniors at any qualified High School. Applicants must demonstrate an interest in business and have a minimum GPA of 2.5. The deadline to apply is March 7th. Learn more here.

This is for $1,500 to a high school graduating senior residing in Medford and entering a trade school or two-/four-year college with a 2.5 GPA or higher. The deadline to apply is March 7th. Learn more here.

 

This promotes the attainment of higher education for graduating seniors who reside within the ERC5 footprint. The East of the River Chamber of Commerce (ERC5) includes East Longmeadow, Longmeadow, Hampden, Wilbraham and Ludlow. A $1000.00 scholarship is awarded to two graduating seniors from each Town’s high school. To be considered, applicants must have completed at least one business focused class during high school. In addition, graduating seniors must be planning to attend an accredited college, technical school or certification program. The deadline is March 8th. Application and checklist here.




This is for $3,500.  Region I is reserved for incoming undergraduates in 16 Northeastern states, including Massachusetts. To be eligible, you must be classified as graduating high school senior, attain academic achievement with a minimum “B” average, gain admission at accredited colleges or trade schools, and choose majors related to the motor vehicle industry. This will be awarded to five high school seniors from our service territories in New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts who are pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, or math will each receive $5,000 for the first year of undergraduate study. To be eligible, the applicant must reside (primary address) and attend a school located in one of the cities/towns in our Unitil service territories. The deadline to apply is March 14th. This is for $2,500. This is available to residents of Hampden County, MA who are members of the senior class at their local public or private secondary schools. Awards are based on school records, college entrance examinations, general attainments and financial need. The deadline is March 15th. More information here.

This provides ​​financial assistance to students with special needs. The annual award is $3,000 for a maximum of four years.  This is given to a graduating high school senior who is currently on and has been on an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or a 504 Accommodation Plan for a minimum of two years. To qualify for this award, the student must be a resident of Hampden County, Massachusetts, enrolled in an eligible high school, and they must attend either a two or four-year accredited college. The student must be a senior at MHS planning to study full-time at an accredited two or four-year school. They must also be entering the field of education and must be active in school activities with a strong emphasis on community service. The amount varies and the deadline to apply is March 26th. More details here.

This is awards up to sixteen $3,000 scholarships to high school seniors entering college during the fall semester. Applicants must also live within Rockland Trust’s service area (which includes cities and towns in Barnstable, Bristol, Dukes, Essex, Middlesex, Nantucket, Norfolk, Plymouth, Suffolk, and Worcester Counties). This is offering a $1,000 scholarship to qualified seniors who plan to further their education by attending a two or four-year college program. The deadline for the application is March 30th. A sample 2022 application is found here.

This is a $2,500 award. This is for Bona fide residents of Foxborough, Massachusetts. Moreover, you must be a current high school senior or past recipient who plans to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school no later than the fall following high school graduation. This is for $1,000. This is for Western Mass seniors who plan to attend an accredited college or technical school to study advertising, communications, marketing, or graphic arts and will be attending in the fall.  The deadline is March 31st. Read more here.

This offers a scholarship program of over 1,000 individual scholarship awards given annually to college students living in Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire counties, providing financial assistance to their college education. The deadline to apply is March 31st. Learn more here. 

This offers up to $25,000 per year to children of full-time AvalonBay associates who excel academically, are actively engaged in extracurricular and/or community activities and have substantial financial need. Applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.8. The deadline to apply is March 31st. Learn more here.

This will award seven $1,000 higher education scholarships to local graduating high school seniors. The money will help with tuition for a college, university, technical institute, or other continuing higher education program of their choice. Eligible students must live or attend high school in one of the following communities: Westfield, Springfield, Agawam, Holyoke, Southwick, East Longmeadow, or West Springfield. The Springfield Garden Club is a $2,000 scholarship. This is available to high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students who are residents of Hampden County, MA, and are majoring or have been accepted to major in one of the accepted horticulture or environmental-related fields. April

This is available to any high school senior from the four counties in Western Massachusetts, who has applied to college and is committed to pursuing journalism as their academic major or minor and is eligible for the Valley Press Club Scholarship. The deadline is April 1st. Learn more here.

This is for $3,500. Applicants must either be a college-bound north of Boston high school senior who has a parent currently undergoing treatment for cancer, survived cancer treatment, or passed away from cancer; or who themselves is a cancer survivor or undergoing treatment for cancer. This is for $3,500. Applicants must be college-bound north of Boston high school seniors whose parents either passed away from cancer, survived cancer during the applicant’s childhood years, or is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, and has an interest in pursuing a career in medicine. This is for $3,500 to a college-bound north Boston high school senior who is a cancer survivor or is currently undergoing treatment for cancer. The deadline to apply is April 1st. Learn more here.

This is for $3,500 to a college-bound north of Boston high school senior whose parent is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer, survived breast cancer treatment, or passed away from breast cancer. The deadline to apply is April 1st. Learn more here.

This presents $3,500 each year to college-bound high school seniors who have lost a parent to cancer, have survived childhood cancer, or are currently battling cancer. Applicants must reside on the North Shore, including Essex, Gloucester, Lynnfield, Middleton, Peabody, Rockport, Salem, and Salisbury. Funding can cover tuition, fees, or room and board at any accredited U.S. post-secondary institution. The deadline for applications is April 1st. More details here.

This is for $7,500 to a  medical school student who has a demonstrated interest in cancer treatment and prevention. Applicants must have resided in Essex County, MA during their high school years. The deadline to apply is April 1st. Learn more here.

To be considered, applicants must be a resident of Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin, or Berkshire County. Applicants must also be high school seniors with a disability seeking to further their education by attending an accredited college or university. In addition to the above eligibility requirements, financial need, academic achievement, volunteer service, church, and community activities will be considered in selecting scholarship recipients. This offers $1,000 in scholarship awards for high school seniors planning to attend college as full-time, degree-seeking students in the fall. These high school seniors must reside in California, Washington, Illinois, Nevada, Maryland, Massachusetts, Texas, New York, and New Jersey and must plan to attend a U.S. Accredited 4-Year College/ University or a Community College in the state of California, Washington, Illinois, Nevada, Maryland, Massachusetts, Texas, New York, and New Jersey as a 1st-year student in the fall of the year the scholarship is awarded. This is in the amount of $1,000.  This scholarship will be awarded to a female high school senior who is pursuing a career in law enforcement or criminal justice by attending an accredited college. You must also be a resident of Massachusetts for at least the past two years and have a minimum of a 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. This is for $1,000. This is available to high school seniors of Haitian descent pursuing a degree in healthcare, you must also be a resident of Massachusetts, and have a GPA of  3.0 or higher. The deadline is April 9th. More details here.

This is for $2,500. To be considered, students must be permanent residents of Massachusetts, have declared a communications-related major, and are in the process of enrolling at an accredited institution of higher learning. The deadline to apply is April 14th. Read more here.

This provides financial assistance to New Hampshire’s students pursuing a career in broadcasting. Students who are permanent residents of New Hampshire and plan to, or are, enrolled at an accredited institution of higher learning are eligible to apply. NHAB awards $2,500 scholarships to students pursuing a career in over-the-air broadcasting, as well as a $5,000 is awarded in honor of the former President of the NHAB, Al Sprague. The PHCC of MASSACHUSETTS Scholarship is a $1,500 scholarship offered to high school seniors who are residents of the state and are enrolled in a full-time undergraduate degree. The deadline is April 15th. Read more here.

 

Two $1,000.00 scholarships will be awarded annually to students from Western Massachusetts who are graduating from high school or are enrolled at an accredited college or university. To be eligible, applicants must be a resident of Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin, or Berkshire County. Applicants must also demonstrate either an intention to pursue a degree and a career dedicated to serving persons with disabilities or be a person with a disability seeking to further his or her education. This is offered to a Massachusetts high school senior who plans to major in engineering or land surveying. The total amount awarded is $5,000, to be awarded over two years, $2,500 per year. In order to be eligible, the applicant must reside in Massachusetts and plan to attend an ABET-accredited engineering, land surveying, engineering technology program, or a pre-engineering program. Although applicants must be a resident of Massachusetts, the college/university they decide to attend can be in any U.S. state. The deadline for applications is April 28th. Learn more here.

This is for $5,000 to a student who resides in South Boston, is graduating from high school, and has been accepted to an accredited college or university by the submission deadline. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and have an interest in pursuing studies in  Criminal Justice, Political Science,  Public Service, or Social Services. The deadline to apply is April 29th. This is a $5,000 award given to a young woman who resides in East Boston, is graduating from high school, and has been accepted to an accredited college or university by the submission deadline. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA and have been involved in community service in East Boston. The deadline to apply is April 29th. Learn more here.

This is for $5,000 to a student who resides in the City of Boston, Chelsea, Revere, or Winthrop, is graduating from high school, and has been accepted to an accredited college or university by the submission deadline. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA and an interest in pursuing studies in Government, Public Administration, Management, Planning, Architecture, or Design. The deadline to apply is April 29th. This is for $5,000 to a student who resides in the City of Boston, Chelsea, Revere, or Winthrop, is graduating from high school, and has been accepted to an accredited college, university, or registered apprentice program by the submission deadline. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA and an interest in  pursuing studies in biology, environmental or marine sciences,  maritime business, other related maritime fields, or a trade. This is designed for graduating minority high school seniors who have financial difficulties. The award amount is $3000 and it is awarded to three people. To be considered, you have to be a resident or school attendee of the Neighboring Community (East Boston, South Boston, Chelsea, Charlestown, Winthrop, Revere, Worcester, Lexington, Lincoln, Concord, and Bedford), have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and have been accepted to an accredited college or university.  You should also be interested in pursuing a degree in one of the following areas of study – Aviation, Business Administration, Accounting, Architecture, Engineering, Finance, and Human Resources. This is for $1,000. Applicants must be residents of Massachusetts, high school seniors pursuing higher education, and currently volunteering with a minimum of 200 hours of past volunteer services. The deadline is April 30th. More details here.

This is for any graduating senior within the 10 cities selected (see below) who has overcome a challenging situation and has risen above to push forward. They will be honoring 10 students, 1 from each city selected, to win a $500 scholarship to be used for school in the fall. The deadline is April 30th. Read more here.

This will award one $500 scholarship to a deserving person who is dedicated to improving our community. This is for graduating high school seniors in Massachusetts who will enroll as a student in a two- or four-year U.S. accredited college or university. To be eligible students must be Residents of Hopkinton, Holliston, Ashland, Milford, Westborough, Upton, Northborough, or Southborough. The deadline is April 30th. Learn more here. 

This offers three $1000 scholarships for graduating seniors of Worcester area schools. Students who win the scholarships typically have excellent grades and writing skills, and also have had some hardship in their lives which they write about in their essays. Financial need is also a factor. The deadline is April 30th. Read more here.

This will be awarded to a medical school student who resided in Essex County, MA during their high school years and has a demonstrated interest in cancer treatment and prevention. The deadline to apply is April 30th. Learn more here.

May

This is for $1,000 has been given to around 400 college-bound high school seniors. It’s reserved for New England residents in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Maine who actively skate at FMC arenas from East Boston to Worcester. To be eligible, you must be accepted at accredited two- or four-year U.S. colleges, have participated in ice hockey, figure skating, and recreational ice sports,  and exhibit financial need for higher education costs. This is the state flagship program. Funds are meted out to financially disadvantaged students interested in pursuing an undergraduate degree at a private or public college, university or approved nursing school within the state. Awards are granted according to financial need, and academic achievement. To be considered, you must be a permanent legal resident of Massachusetts for at least one full year prior to the opening of the academic year. The deadline is May 1st. Learn more here.




This will be awarded at a maximum of $620 per year for full and part time students ($310 per semester maximum). To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate student who has been admitted to an eligible institution, be a permanent legal resident of Massachusetts for at least one year prior to the start of the academic year, and be a U.S. Citizen or non-citizen eligible under Title IV regulations. This is offering a $1,000 scholarship for a college-bound female high school senior in Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin Counties in Massachusetts as well as Northern Connecticut. The scholarship aims to reward a well-rounded, intelligent, civic-minded senior who has participated in track or cross-country. Interested young women can access the application at the club’s home page here and the deadline for submissions is May 1st.

This awards a two-time scholarship with a reward of $500 each. This is  to recognize outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated an interest in the sport of running. To be eligible students must be Residents of Hopkinton, Holliston, Ashland, Milford, Westborough, Upton, Northborough or Southborough. The deadline is May 1st. Application here.




This awards at least $2,000 each year to deserving high school seniors in Boston, Massachusetts, who need significant financial assistance to afford their higher education dreams. Successful applicants must be completing a diploma or GED, plan to attend a regionally accredited U.S. college, have a minimum grade point average of 2.0, have lived in Boston for 12+ months, and exhibit good citizenship. Awards can be renewed for four undergraduate years. The deadline for applications is May 1st. Website here.

 

The award shall be equal to the cost of the institution’s full time annual tuition charges. This was established for students who have experienced the loss of a parent and/or spouse who is killed or missing in the line of public service duty in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. To be considered, you must be enrolled full time (at least 12 credits or its equivalent) in a certificate, associate’s or bachelor’s degree program at an eligible institution. This ranges from $3,000 to $18,000. This is need-based aid given to graduating high school seniors from New England who need financial support to attend an accredited U.S. college without burdensome debt. Qualified candidates must be seeking their first bachelor’s degree, uphold a minimum 2.5 GPA, be U.S. citizens or lawful residents, take at least 12 credits per semester, and have low expected family contributions. First priority is given to Massachusetts from Salem and Boston’s northern suburbs. The deadline is May 2nd. Read more here.

This offers a scholarship program of 61 scholarships worth up to $160,000, providing financial assistance to students pursuing a career in the plumbing-heating-cooling (p-h-c) industry. The deadline to apply is May 1st. Learn more here.

This offers five $5,000 college scholarships. To be considered, applicants must be current high school juniors or seniors attending school in one of the six New England states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont. Applicants must also be planning to pursue a degree at an accredited US post-secondary institution. The deadline to apply is May 15th. Learn more here.

This is a $500.00 Non-Refundable award will be given to two males and two females District E Scholar-Athletes. To be eligible students must have a 2.0 G.P.A. or better. The deadline is May 13th. Application here.  

This gives an award of $1,000 per year for up to 4 years. This is available to graduating seniors pursuing a career in floriculture, horticulture, or related sciences. You must also be a  resident of Massachusetts for at least 1 year. The deadline to apply is May 15th. Read more here.

June

This is a $1,000 scholarship to one male and one female applicant each year. In order to be considered for the scholarship award, applicants must be former members of a youth soccer team affiliated with the organization. Unlike most scholarships, this award is paid only after recipients have completed at least one semester of college at a Massachusetts institution. The deadline to apply is June 1st. This is for $5,000. The aim of this scholarship is to offer financial support towards college expenses to a graduating senior who has been directly affected by cancer. To qualify, the application must have confirmed attendance as an incoming undergraduate student at a fully accredited college or university in the United States. This ranges from $500 to $1,500 and awards 5-7 applicants per year. To be eligible, Applicants should be graduating high school seniors from Cape Cod and the Islands who work and will be continuing his/her education. The deadline to apply is July 1st. Application here

This supports Massachusetts unaccompanied homeless youth as they transition to, progress through, and complete a college education. Applicants must be Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) income eligible; meet HUD’s definition of Unaccompanied Homeless Youth  or have recently aged out of foster care and meet HUD’s criteria of an independent student; and provide a letter verifying homelessness written by the applicant’s school district’s homeless liaison or service provider. This is a $10,000 award to a Massachusetts high school junior who plans to pursue an education and career in cybersecurity and technology. To be eligible, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5; be pursuing one or more majors in qualified IT fields of study including information technology, computer science, software engineering, computational or data analysis hardware, software, or networking certification programs; demonstrate financial needs; and  plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical/trade school after high school graduation. If you’re a student who has worked on a golf course in Massachusetts for at least two years, then you qualify for this. This renewable award ranges from $1,000 to $15,000, depending on the student’s financial need and how many students submitted an application. To be considered, you must plan to attend an accredited institution of undergraduate higher education full-time. Students may apply as seniors in high school or during their college career. This is for high school students pursuing trade union programs or college/university study.  About 2,000 students take the exam annually to compete for scholarships ranging from $500 to $16,000.  In order to be eligible for the scholarship, students must take the Labor History Exam. Chosen high school seniors can attend the Commonwealth’s nine state institutions, such as Salem State University, Bridgewater State University, and Framingham State University, for free if a 3.3 GPA is maintained. To be eligible, you must be a permanent legal resident of Massachusetts for 12+ months, excel academically with a minimum secondary GPA of 3.75, and have at least a 1200 on the SAT or an ACT equivalent. Acceptance criteria mandates planning to enter the recreational marine industry, holding MMTA membership, and sustaining a minimum 2.0 GPA. This is a complementary program to the Need-Based Tuition Waiver Program. It helps needy students by awarding grant money to cover additional charges such as mandatory fees and non-state-supported tuition. To be eligible, you must be a permanent legal resident of Massachusetts for one year prior to the start of the academic year for which the grant is awarded, be a U.S. Citizen or non-citizen eligible under Title IV regulations, and be enrolled in at least three undergraduate credits per semester in an eligible program. This provides grants up to $6000 annually for foster children to help pay for an education beyond high school at any college or university throughout the continental United States. The grant recipient must have signed an agreement with the Department of Children and Families for care and services beyond age 18. This ranges from $200 to a maximum that depends on the type of institution that the student attends. To be considered, you must be a permanent legal resident of Massachusetts for at least one year prior to the start of the academic year for which the grant is awarded. You must also be a U.S. Citizen or non-citizen eligible under Title IV regulations and be enrolled for at least six (or the equivalent) but fewer than 12 undergraduate credits per academic term in an eligible undergraduate degree program or eligible certificate program. This provides assistance to full-time students with demonstrated financial need who are from rural areas of Massachusetts and attend public institutions of higher education within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This award has been created to recognize a graduating senior for strongly demonstrated leadership and creativity in serving his or her community through the student’s talents in visual art, drama, music, dance, or literature.
