January

This provides $2,000 to an individual who is a fourth year high school student or in college, who intends on obtaining an associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or technical certificate/degree from a higher educational institution, who requires financial assistance to continue their educational career, and who is a member of the Future Farmers of America. This provides $1,000 to an individual who is a fourth year high school student that intends on obtaining a bachelor’s degree from a higher educational institution, who intends on majoring in agricultural education, who intends on becoming an agricultural educator, and who is a member of the Future Farmers of America. This is for $5,000. This is given to New Hampshire high school seniors with an interest in human rights and activism through the arts. The deadline to apply is January 19th. Details of the scholarship and selection process are found here.

These are for $2,000. This is for current college undergraduates from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. These students must be licensed as amateur radio operator technicians, hold U.S. citizenship with New England residency, and study electronics, communications, or related fields. February

This awards $3,000 to candidates. Candidates must be the child of a worker for the Simon Property Group who has worked with this company for a minimum of a year, be younger than 23 years old, and be a fourth-year high school student or college student intending to attend an associate’s level, bachelor’s level, or technical educational institution. March

This scholarship is available for Maine and New Hampshire 4-H members who are active in 4-H activities. The scholarship is awarded to New Hampshire and Maine residents. Students must be graduating high school seniors or have previously graduated from high school but delayed going to college for no more than one year. The deadline is March 1st. This presents non-renewable awards up to $3,100 apiece. Priority is given to students with the fewest financial resources on their FAFSA form. Applicants permanently live in Wilton, Lyndeborough, or Milford. Be accepted at an accredited U.S. post-secondary school, display scholastic achievement with a minimum 2.5 GPA, and exhibit integrity, character, and motivation via volunteerism. This awards $10,000 to 25 students. Students must be in their fourth year of high school, intend to attend an associate’s, bachelor’s, or technical program full-time in the upcoming school year, have a GPA of more than 2.75, be able to receive the Pell Grant,  be an American resident or citizen, be considered a distinctive applicant in regard to race, gender, and so forth, be considered a member of an underprivileged group, and display characteristics such as initiative. This awards 5 scholarships of varying amounts. Candidates must be a fourth year student at a high school and live in one of four different regions (Region I consists of 16 states including New Hampshire), must have displayed academic success throughout their high school career, must display that they are ready to begin their college career, and must intend to pursue a career in the automobile field. This gives 3 awards to graduating high school seniors from New England who show great promise to succeed in college.  One scholarship is for study at a private institution; one is for a four-year program at a public college; and one is for a student attending a community college. The candidate must be recommended by the school guidance counselor and have at least a 3.0 GPA. The deadline to apple is March 15th. Learn more here.

This is for $1,000. Applicants must be a person who is reentering the workforce, displaced from the workforce, or honorably discharged from the military. Applicants must also be a resident of the State of New Hampshire or be a member of a Unit of the American Legion Auxiliary, Department of New Hampshire for three consecutive years including the current membership year and maintain membership through at least the award year. This is a $300 scholarship given to a resident of New Hampshire, or a member of a Unit of the American Legion Auxiliary, Department of New Hampshire for three consecutive years including the current membership year and maintain membership through at least the award year, who is the child or grandchild of a deceased veteran. This gives two $300 scholarships to girls who plan to attend a school of higher learning for not less than two years, with the exception of a preparatory school. The candidates shall be selected on the basis of need, character, Americanism, and academic achievement. The deadline to apply is March 15th. Application found here.

This is for a senior who plans to attend college and major in business.  The typed application asks for biographical information, extra-curricular activities, and an essay.  Applicants not selected at the national level will compete for two state awards. The deadline is March 15th. Read more here.

This gives two nursing awards; $800 to a Registered Nursing student and $500 to a Licensed Practical Nursing student. The deadline to apply is March 15th. Learn more here.

 

This is for $2,500. This will be given to applicants demonstrating an intent to use their course of study to pursue a career associated with the transportation construction industry, including but not limited to, careers related to highway and bridge construction, civil engineering, public works and environmental consulting. Each year nine deserving students from the state of New Hampshire are awarded a monetary scholarship and the opportunity to complete a paid summer internship at a branch of the Bank of New Hampshire.  The award is based on academic ability and financial need. This awards $1,500 to 5 different applicants. Applicants must have a congenital heart defect, must have undergone a heart transplant, or must have a loved one who has a congenital heart defect. Applicants must also live in a state in the New England region of the US which includes New Hampshire, be in their fourth year of high school, have a GPA that is a minimum of 2.5, intend to attend an educational institution in the US with the goal of obtaining their associate’s, bachelor’s, or technical certificate, and not have been a recipient of this scholarship in the past 2 years. This awards $5,000 to 6 students who are in their fourth year of high school and intend to study a major within the STEM field in a higher educational institution. The students must live and intend to attend a college that is found within an area in one of three states including New Hampshire that Unitil provides its resources in. The deadline is March 31st. April

This is worth $5,000. This is reserved for students residing and studying in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. Applicants must pursue an ABET-accredited degree in civil engineering and have unmet financial need and academic merit. You must also be a part of NEWWA members building careers in water works practice. The deadline is April 1st. Read more here.

This gives three to four awards of $1,000 to $3,000. This is available for undergraduate and graduate students who demonstrate an interest in a career in the employee benefits field through either course of study or work experience. The applicant must be a resident of a New England state or be enrolled in a college in New England. The deadline to apply is April 1st. Apply here.

Anyone living in New Hampshire or within ten miles of its border is eligible to apply. The Education Committee is interested in supporting intensive educational activities that present creative approaches to learning and are designed to meet the challenges of a career as a professional craftsperson, develop a personal interest in a craft discipline, improve personal understanding of a craft-related topic such as design or aesthetics, advance a skill or learn a new technique in a craft medium, and enhance individual creativity. This $5,000 prize helps aspiring broadcasters find their voice at two- or four-year colleges. Applications must arrive before April 7th with a resume, brief career goals statement, transcript, and recent IRS tax return. More details here.

This is for Dunbarton residents graduating from high school. In the event that there is no candidate who fits this criterion, the scholarship opportunity shall then be opened to any student graduating from Bow High School. The application process is competitive. The Scholarship Committee is interested in supporting intensive educational activities that present creative approaches to learning. The deadline is April 1st. This scholarship is available to a female resident of the State of New Hampshire graduating from high school who will enter an accredited New Hampshire college or university. The amount is $1,200  and the deadline to apply is April 1st. More details here.

This is available to a male or female high school senior, residing in New Hampshire, who plans to attend any accredited university, college, technical or specialty school. This scholarship is based on community service, academic achievement, financial need, leadership, the applicant’s individual determination and school activities. Scholarships will be awarded to NH residents attending college full time for 2 or 4 years. If you attend a technical school you are also eligible. The deadline to apply isApril 13th. More info. here.

Applicants must be a Nashua resident and a high school senior. They must also be planning on enrolling in a degree  program at an institution of higher education (technical school, college, or university).  It is preferred that the student have an interest in history or a related field, but not required. The amount varies and the deadline to apply is April 8th. More details here.

This up to $5,000 per year and is available to students who have or will graduate from Woodsville High School that plan to go on for further education but demonstrate financial need. Priority is given to first generation college students. Factors considered are: participation in school and community activities, work experience, and drive to succeed. The deadline is April 13th. This is given to New Hampshire residents who are motivated students. These students must be economically disadvantaged, with a preference for hispanics and other minorities who are enrolled in undergraduate study. One award will be exclusively for a minority student from Merrimack County. Non-traditional students, both full- and part-time are encouraged to apply. The deadline is April 9th. Website found here.

This gifts $2,000 to three annual recipients. To be eligible, applicants must be biological or adopted children of ACEC-NH member companies’ employees. They must also pursue an accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree at accredited U.S. colleges and select majors in engineering, engineering physics, materials science, geology, and related technical fields. One Vermont and one NH student will be selected to receive a renewable scholarship in honor of “Buster” Brush who was passionate about working with youth and serving his community. The awards will go to two deserving seniors who have distinguished themselves from their peers through hard work, school spirit, leadership, and a desire to help others and make a difference in their communities. This is for graduating seniors who are pursuing a post-secondary education in a business-related program. Applicants have or will have completed four or more of the following courses from among the following: computer / technology, accounting / bookkeeping, financial literacy, marketing, principles of business, business law, business communications, economics, or probability and statistics.  The deadline to apply is April 26th.  Apply here.

Three awards of $400 each are given to high school seniors who have been New Hampshire residents during their junior and senior years of high school. Students should be planning a career in fire emergency services. The deadline is April 28th. Learn more here.

This give $1,000 to support the industry’s next generation. Future engineers earning a bachelor’s or master’s degree are chosen based on their academic merit, financial need, technical experience, and extracurricular involvement. Applications are due on April 30th. Website found here.

This is competitive, ranging from $250 to $7,500. It is based on financial need, academic merit and other non-academic factors such as community service, school activities and work experience. This awards $500 – $1,500 to candidates. Candidates must consider themselves as female, must live in or intend to pursue a degree at an educational institution in one of six states, including New Hampshire, and must intend to obtain their bachelor’s degree or higher at an educational institution in the following year. This awards scholarships of varying amounts depending on the students’ applications and how much financial assistance they require for their educational career. Candidates must be fourth year students at one of three high schools in New Hampshire including Laconia, Belmont, and Gilford High Schools and must reside in those three areas in New Hampshire (Laconia, Belmont, and Gilford). This is awarded to students who are residents of the Alton and Barnstead areas of New Hampshire and who are students at Prospect Mountain High School. Candidates must aspire to study a major within the science field such as chemistry or biology with the goal of obtaining a bachelor’s degree. The deadline to apply is April 1st. Learn more here.   

May

This is for $1,000 has been given to around 400 college-bound high school seniors. It’s reserved for New England residents in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Maine who actively skate at FMC arenas from East Boston to Worcester. To be eligible, you must be accepted at accredited two- or four-year U.S. colleges, have participated in ice hockey, figure skating, and recreational ice sports,  and exhibit financial need for higher education costs. This provides financial support to students currently living in NH who have experienced homelessness during their school career, have a desire to continue their education beyond high school, and have demonstrated academic achievement. Applicants must be under the age of 21, be residing in NH at the time of applying for the scholarship, and be actively pursuing post-secondary education.The scholarship can be used to help defray the costs of college or a post-secondary vocational training program. This is for $2,000. This is available to full-time incoming freshmen that reside in New Hampshire for at least 36 months. They must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be pursuing majors like rehabilitation science, psychology, occupational therapy, or music therapy to improve people’s well-being. This is proud to support our youth through the Fisher Cats Foundation Scholar-Athlete Scholarships. Each year, the foundation awards $1,500 scholarships to ten New Hampshire high school seniors and two Massachusetts high school seniors. Fisher Cats Foundation Scholar-Athlete Scholarship recipients will be selected using criteria that includes academic achievement, athletic achievement and active citizenship. The deadline is May 1st. This is for $1,000 and is awarded to two New Hampshire high school students who plan to pursue any type of secondary education or vocational/technical school. The students who submit the best video or written essay on the following topic will be selected as the recipients.  The deadline is May 1st. Application information can be found here.

This is awarded to a graduating high school senior.  Candidates must be graduates of a NH high school or NH residents who have been accepted at a fully accredited college or university, and plan to major in mathematics or math education.  Selection is based on academic achievement, financial need, extra-curricular involvement, and school & community involvement.  The deadline is May 1st. This ranges from $3,000 to $18,000. This is need-based aid given to graduating high school seniors from New England who need financial support to attend an accredited U.S. college without burdensome debt. Qualified candidates must be seeking their first bachelor’s degree, uphold a minimum 2.5 GPA, be U.S. citizens or lawful residents, take at least 12 credits per semester, and have low expected family contributions. First priority is given to Massachusetts from Salem and Boston’s northern suburbs. The deadline is May 2nd. Read more here.

This is for $500 and offered to a licensed radio amateur with a general class or higher license who is majoring in electronics, communications, or a related field. The applicant must reside and attend school in New York or New England. The deadline to apply is December 31st. Website found here.

This awards the recipient $2,000. This is available to students who are the children of a member of a Unit of the American Legion Auxiliary, Department of New Hampshire, who are beginning their educational career at an institution with the goal of obtaining their bachelor’s degree, who have lived in New Hampshire for 3 or more years, and who had a minimum of a B average in both their third and fourth years of high school. This is available to students beginning their educational career at an institution with the goal of obtaining their bachelor’s degree in education, who have lived in New Hampshire for 3 or more years, and who had a minimum of a B average in both their third and fourth years of high school. This is for $1,000. This is offered to one graduating senior who has been accepted at an institution of higher learning. Applicant’s parents or guardians must also be a current member of AFT-NH to be eligible.  The deadline to apply is June 30th. Apply here.

This awards $2,000 to one applicant. This is offered to individuals who are 18 years or older, intend to attend or already attend an educational institution in the United States with the goal of obtaining an associate’s or bachelor’s degree, have a GPA from their high school or college career that is a minimum of 2.5, live in or is a student at a college in one of 14 states including New Hampshire, and has not worked for or has a loved one that worked for Fox Pest Control.   • Timothy S. and Palmer W. Bigelow, Jr. Scholarship was created to aid students from New England who are seeking a career in horticulture. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate landscape/horticulture program or related discipline at a two- or four-year institution as a full time student, be a resident of six New England states, have senior standing in a two-year curriculum (having completed the first year), junior standing in a four-year curriculum (having completed the first two years), or a graduate student standing, and have a minimum grade point average of 2.25, or 3.0 for a graduate student. September

This is for $2,500. This program provides scholarships to children of New Hampshire service members who died on active duty or of service-connected disabilities to attend New Hampshire public colleges and universities. The funds are to be used for room, board, books, and supplies at New Hampshire public colleges and universities. The deadline to apply is september 1st. More info. here.

October

November

This is for $10,000. It’s intended for high-achieving incoming freshmen. Applicants must rank in the top 10 percent of their high school’s graduating class, take a challenging college-prep curriculum with a minimum 3.2 GPA, achieve composite scores above 28 on the ACT or 1390 on the SAT, and display leadership skills in school or community activities.   • ASA NORTHEAST Annual Scholarship Program awards $3000 to 3 college-bound students that live in specific states across the Northeast. Applicants must live in one of 12 Northeastern states including New Hampshire, be backed by an ASA participant from the ASA Northeast area, be intending to enter a technical field of work, and enter an accredited technical program or educational institution or an accredited bachelor’s program full-time. This is for students of any age who are pursuing short-term vocational or technical studies in fields such as automotive technology, plumbing, heating, construction, advanced manufacturing, computer repair, licensed nursing assistant, etc. The deadline to apply is December 15th. More details here.

This range from $100 to $3,500 depending on financial need. This is for students who demonstrate reasonable achievement and a commitment to their chosen field of study. Preference is given to students who have previously received funding and successfully completed prior educational work or for students entering high-demand professions, including but not limited to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields: computer science, advanced manufacturing, clinical health care, engineering, engineering technology, graphic design (CAD), etc. The deadline to apply is December 15th. Deadlines Vary

This awards scholarships to randomly selected entrants that are or will be attending any Title IV eligible college or university. High school seniors enrolling in an eligible post-secondary institution in the fall and current college students are encouraged to apply. This is for students who have been accepted into a college or university or current student. Their family income must be of $60,000 or less. Students must also have been active in the community, volunteer, have a job or play a sport, maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher while in school, and be from Florida, Wisconsin or the New England Area to apply (one student in each state will be chosen). This awards $1,000 to an individual who is in their fourth year of high school or is in college, who intends on acquiring an associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or technical certificate/degree from a higher educational institution, who is a member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA), and who has acquired the signature from a Ford Dealer.

This awards scholarships that span from $500 to $5,000. Students must identify as Korean American, must intend to attend a college full-time found in the Northeastern area (including New Hampshire), must have a GPA that is higher than 3.0, and must require financial aid to attend their educational institution. Chinonyelum Obodo is enrolled at the prestigious York College at City University of New York.
